# name-your-price

> Lets the customer type the unit price the product is added at. 2.0: not on a gift card product (Shopify issues the card for its variant's value whatever was paid): there it removes itself, and no price source (the configurator's either) changes a gift card's price.

Status: Ready (Smootify 2.0)
Plan: Server plan
Add-on: Name your price

Updated: 2026-10-13

## Where it can go

- **Inside** [`smootify-add-to-cart`](https://www.smootify.io/docs/reference/elements/smootify-add-to-cart).
- **Must contain** `input[type="number"]`.
- **Out of place,** Smootify removes it from the page: also without a smootify-product ancestor, or on a gift card product.

## What it requires

- The **server plan**: on other plans Smootify removes the element from the page.
- The **Name your price** extension (server plan, the extension activated in the Smootify dashboard, the licensed domain). Without it, its markup is removed from the page.

## Fields in the form

Each field’s **Name** setting in Webflow tells Smootify what the field holds. It is a setting of the field, not a custom attribute.

| Name | Field | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| the first `input[type="number"]` (any name) | number field | **Required** (removed without it). The unit price, bounded by its `min` / `max`; never a line property. |

## Attributes on the element

- **It reads** `data-invalid-price`.
