CMS structure

If you want to add Smootifty to an existing Webflow project and create the correct CMS structure on that project, in this video we will show you how to do it.

Before syncing the Webflow and Shopify CMS, we need to create the correct CMS collections in the new Webflow project we're creating.

Again, we can automate this entire process very quickly using another Smootify tool.Return to the Smootify dashboard, select your project, and go back to the tools section. From here, select the first tool, CMS collection creator.Once clicked, you'll need to create three new collections: products, collections (product categories), and Vendors (your product brands).Simply click on each of these cards, add the names of your collections, and press the create collection button.Do this for all three collections.Once finished, wait a few minutes for all collections to be created and go to your Webflow project.In the Webflow designer, in the CMS section, you'll find the created collections with all the necessary fields for proper functioning with Shopify.You'll only need to make these 3 small changes to make everything work:

  1. Go to the product collection and set the SEO description field to Multiple line text and save the collection.
  2. Create a new Reference field by selecting the Vendor collection.
  3. Create a Multi-reference field by selecting the Collection (product category) collections.

The final step is to synchronize the custom slugs we created for our CMS collections in the previous step. To do this, we need to go to the Smootify Doc and navigate to the JS Utilities section. At the top, you'll find a button labeled "JS Custom Options." Clicking this will open a modal where we simply need to enter the same slugs we used when creating our CMS collections in the Smootify dashboard. Once added, click the "Copy Script" button. Paste the script into the global code of our Smootify project, immediately after the initial Smootify configuration script, and then republish the project.All new CMS collections are now correctly configured.
