Shopify's own storefront, built with a theme at yourstore.myshopify.com; a Smootify store does not use it, because the Webflow site is the storefront, but its address keeps working unless you redirect it.
The Online Store is the sales channel most Shopify stores start with: a website built from a theme, with pages Shopify draws from its templates. Every store has it at yourstore.myshopify.com, and new stores show it behind a password until they pick a plan.
A Smootify store does not use it: your Webflow site is the storefront, and Shopify keeps the products, the cart, the checkout and the orders. Two things about the Online Store still matter:
- Its address stays reachable. An old link or a search result can still open
yourstore.myshopify.com. Smootify’s Redirect theme, installed in place of the theme, sends those visitors to the same page on your Webflow site. - Theme apps live there. Apps that add blocks to a theme draw them in the Online Store only: on a Webflow site they need their own code. See Shopify app.
In Webflow terms
The Online Store is the Shopify equivalent of a Webflow site, made with a theme instead of the Designer. With Smootify you keep the Webflow site and leave the theme unused.
In Smootify
Your main domain goes to Webflow, not to the Online Store. Shopify gets a sub-domain for the checkout.
