The price per reference quantity, such as €1.50 per 100 g, shown next to the price where the law asks for it; it is set on each variant from its total quantity and a reference unit.
In many countries, the European Union among them, food, drinks, cosmetics and other goods sold by weight, volume or length must show their price per unit: per kg, per litre, per meter. Shopify calls it the unit price.
You set it on each variant, with two values:
- the total quantity in the product, such as 500 g;
- the reference unit, such as 100 g.
Shopify then works out the unit price from the variant’s price: a 500 g pack at €7.50 is €1.50 per 100 g.
In Webflow terms
There is no field for it in Webflow: it is worked out by Shopify for each variant, so it follows the price and the variant the customer picks.
In Smootify
variant="unit-price" shows it with its reference quantity, such as €1.50/ 100 g, and data-format changes the text around it. In the cart, cart-item="unit-price" shows it for each line. A variant without a unit price measure shows nothing.
