A non-profit takes donations and sells a few things to fund the work, often on two different sites. On a Shopify theme, an amount the donor types is an app with a monthly fee. With Smootify the donation is a product in your Shopify: the donor types the amount, gives every month or adds €2 to a t-shirt, and orders and donors stay where they already are.

Nothing here needs Shopify Plus. A donation with a chosen amount pays on a Shopify draft order invoice, and so does the rest of that cart: keep monthly gifts, which pay at the usual checkout, in a separate order. Add-ons and the dedication fields are free; volunteer days use Booking. Receipts and what they are worth for taxes depend on your country: check with an accountant or a lawyer.
